Today, Joseph Bearden, one of the two accused killers of Ryan Skipper, was found guilty of second-degree murder and robbery.

On March 15, 2007, Ryan Skipper was stabbed 19 times and left to die on a dirt road in Polk County, Florida. His death is a bloody reminder of the anti-gay hatred faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in our state.

Just days ago, a prosecution witness revealed that shortly after the killing, Joseph Bearden, the defendant, said, "He felt he was doing the world a favor by getting rid of one more faggot."

The 19 stab wounds that Ryan Skipper suffered are what the FBI calls 'overkill'. That's when the violence in an assault is beyond what would be necessary for a robbery and more than would even be required to take someone's life. Overkill is a key indicator of a hate crime.

During his closing statement, State Attorney Castillo said the brutality of Ryan's murder indicated, "hatred, contempt and utter disregard for another human being because he was gay."

Please visit Equality Florida and see how else you could help in Florida. For a state with such a large gay and lesbian population base in Orlando and a few other counties, we deserve better rights. We need to stand up for our rights. If we did, we would have them.

Loves it. Safari 4.0 pubic beta was released today. I have only been playing with it for about 20 min. But I love it a lot. The first thing you notice is your new "welcome page" that shows your most visited websites. It loads these websites, and gives you a thumb view of them so you can pick the website you want to visit. You can remove the websites that do not make sense on your "top sites" page. For example, on mine the "approve friend requests" page came up from Facebook. I just wanted the facebook main page in there, and i removed the others.

Also, when you go and look in your history, you can view it in the famous Apple "cover view" where you can cycle through all of the pages you recently visited, and what they look at. So if you dont remember the URL or title of the page you recently looked at, you can just pull up your cover flow history.

Additionally, Apple is challenging the Google Chrome browser in a "Speed off" for the fastest browser. Obviously this is still a public beta, so downloads are at your own risk, but I recommend you download it for your Mac or PC and try it out!!

Update: This browser screams. It is really fast, it reloads my website in like a half of a second!

So, I happen to get a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate the other day, and decided to try out Boot Camp on my Mac Book Pro. It works quite well so far. I did have driver issues (it is still Windows), but eventually got everything to work.

Vista still feels like windows. You can tell its cumbersome and clunky. However, I do think it looks soo much pretier than previous versons, so thats a start.

I have only had a chance to play for like 30 min, because I spent the first 2 hours of Vista fixing the driver issues. I will keep you posted on what I think later.

So, my car headlight just went out yesterday, before my adventure to Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. So my plan all along was to replace my headlight today not at 7 p.m. last night. However, I knew how police worked, and I new that I had a great chance of getting pulled over.

Turns out, I was correct. Just as we concluded our night at about 1030, after eating at Sonic, we got pulled over by Orange County police. He pulled me over on I-drive. Moments later, before he got to my window, another squad car showed up for backup. So, at this point, I am in a hotel parking lot, with 2 police cars behind me with both of their squad lights on. Talk about creating a scene.

The officer told me he pulled me over because "you were going too fast for this road" and "your headlight is out." Literally seconds before pulling me over, a van screamed by me at least 10-15 mph faster than me. The officer had to have noticed, because the van just finished passing me when the police lights turned on behind me.

So, I was profiled because we had 3 younger people in the car on I-Drive with a headlight out. Jimmy and I had both looked at my speed, and I was actually going 35, the speed limit for that road.

The officer never told me my speed. Nor did I get a ticket.
