Windows Vista Ultimate

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

So, I have wanted to play with windows Vista for some time.  Yes, me a avid mac "fanboy" as some would say, did indeed want to play with the bug ridden vista.

So, I happen to get a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate the other day, and decided to try out Boot Camp on my Mac Book Pro.  It works quite well so far.  I did have driver issues (it is still Windows), but eventually got everything to work.

Vista still feels like windows.  You can tell its cumbersome and clunky.  However, I do think it looks soo much pretier than previous versons, so thats a start.

I have only had a chance to play for like 30 min, because I spent the first 2 hours of Vista fixing the driver issues.  I will keep you posted on what I think later.

You can now comment on this blog with your Facebook username.  Just select signon with facebook.  I am working on getting it to use the facebook user photos, but I have to go eat lunch with Jimmy's mom then buy a headlight, so it may be a bit before it works.  I will keep you posted.

Update: No luck so far.  All I get is a username "?" photo.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Headlight Out

So, my car headlight just went out yesterday, before my adventure to Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. So my plan all along was to replace my headlight today not at 7 p.m. last night.  However, I knew how police worked, and I new that I had a great chance of getting pulled over.

Turns out, I was correct.  Just as we concluded our night at about 1030, after eating at Sonic, we got pulled over by Orange County police.  He pulled me over on I-drive.  Moments later, before he got to my window, another squad car showed up for backup.  So, at this point, I am in a hotel parking lot, with 2 police cars behind me with both of their squad lights on.  Talk about creating a scene.

The officer told me he pulled me over because "you were going too fast for this road" and "your headlight is out."  Literally seconds before pulling me over, a van screamed by me at least 10-15 mph faster than me.  The officer had to have noticed, because the van just finished passing me when the police lights turned on behind me.

So, I was profiled because we had 3 younger people in the car on I-Drive with a headlight out.  Jimmy and I had both looked at my speed, and I was actually going 35, the speed limit for that road.

The officer never told me my speed.  Nor did I get a ticket.

Change Has Come

Whitehouse.gov -> Change has come.

Already, Obama has put steps into motion to close Guantanamo bay in Cuba. He is off to a great start!

Here is a great video from his whistle tour to the Inauguration:

I love flickr, just because it brings the world so close together. While I couldn't be in Washington DC today, I can see what others see.

Watch the photos in slide show, full screen. There are also lots of movies strewn about in there. Its great. I found one video from a high school of all the students just standing around and watching. History happened today!!!

Inauguration Day

Message to and from Obama
Message to and from Obama,
originally uploaded by brian glanz.
Today was interesting. I actually had a great day at work. After a sorta rough day yesterday, today being my Friday (and a ten hour Friday at that).

I opened the Backlands today with my bff at work, Paula and funny guy Dave Yunker. Paula is pretty amazing. We call her the mom of the Showkeeping team. I have pretty much managed to keep my days off the same as hers for most of my time on the team to date. So, we spend most of our weeks working together, which I love.

The mood at work this morning from all of our cast was pretty amazing! Everyone was happy. You could tell even just looking at the small demographic of my 630am track talk. We told the cast that the inauguration would be broadcast live backstage for them to watch on their breaks and lunch breaks. There were random cheers and cast members talking about what a great day it would be. Not usual for a track talk at the crack of dawn. People were happy.

Of course, I was happy too. It just felt good that this was a sign of change. I know people say that one person does not make that much difference... but that really isn't true. Obama sets the tone of our government. He may not make the laws, but he will set the standard for what he expects from the law makers.

Obama has already pledged to shut down Guantanamo Bay. One of the biggest violations of what we believe in as a nation. Our justice system has always been "innocent until proven guilty," and as Americans we should be above torture. Closing Guantanamo will be a symbol that Bush bull headed style of doing things is over. We don't have to be bullies to get what we want in the world. Peace and diplomacy is the solution for a civilized society, and I am glad President Obama is making that clear.

President Obama has to be going into office with more public opinion support than any other president has started with. He can make a difference. I believe he will. Lets hope he will be as good as all the hype. I know a lot of people out there are expecting to be let down. I am not. I want him to stand up, stand for what he believes in, and show this world what a true America is about. We are a compassionate nation, and the good majority here indeed does care about everyone else, and the well being of the world.

There is soo much that he can accomplish. ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I know some people that might disagree with that, but I do believe it. It is not an easy task, but it can be done.

Okaaaay. So after long hours struggling to solve the problem, it turned out all I needed to do was clone the blog onto a new blog, and rename it to the old one.

I guess only MT users would understand what I am talking about, but I don't know why my blog was corrupt.  :(

So, my old template and design may have been lost... I am not sure yet, and dont want to look into it at this point.  So for now, you will just see this theme.  I will see what I can do later.

At least I can blog again, and the world is good.  You may have to update your RSS feeds, I dont know for sure.  I work at 6am, and really dont want to look into anything more at this point.

That is all for now.
