So, I just got back from my parents house in Placida Fl. I had a great time, and I got to see my brother and his girlfriend Tai.

We opened presents this morning. Nothing super duper exciting this year. In fact, it has been a while since my parents have bought exciting gifts. I got:

• A car charger and wireless transmitter for my iPhone. Its the one I picked out because is specifically said it works with the iPhone 3g. However, the radio transmission on the thing stinks and I have to work on the placement in order to even get a semi-decent signal. Eh, oh well.
• I got a desperately needed shoe stand thing to house all of our shoes. YAY!
• A broom
• Socks
• Shorts
• A home tool set (again very much needed)
• Sims 2 Bon voyage
• Pajamas
• Random other small goodies

There was no "one more thing" as Steve Jobs likes to put it. No big suprises. I asked for a Time Capsule, but my mom said no, because she read a bad review of it somewhere. None-the-less I had fun, so thats what's important. :)  Although, I will probably end up buying a Time Capsule on my own now because I need to back up my computers, and being laptops, hooking them up every so often for a backup, doesnt really work well.

So every now and then I use Apple's new Gunius "sidebar" to find new music to listen to.  I am not the kind of person that knows all the bands and artists in the world.  So, I like this feature because I can find a song I like, and it will make recommendations on what else I might like.  And for the most part it does a great job.  Every time I start my little hunts, I end up spending at least $5 to $10 on songs. Which is a lot for someone who used to only buy one song at a time.  It really is a great way for Apple to get people to buy music.

I love my 3G.  But its battery life in recent days has become troublesome.  Now that I am using apps more religiously, I make it through 3/4 of my day (sometimes not even that), and I get a battery at 20% notice.  I haven't had it die on me yet (mostly because I restrict use once I hit 20%), but it is pretty lame.  I really want this case, because it includes a lot of additional power:

I have been contemplating getting back into podcasting.  I was thinking the other night when I was driving home from work that I have a lot of opinions circulating in my head that I would like to get out.  I was thinking a random 10min podcast every once and a while - while I was driving home would be cool.  I would call it something lame like "the ride home."  I just have to find a good app for the iPhone that will work like I want it to... and I have to decide I actually want to do it.
